Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser Review

I have been so excited to get a post up about this cleanser for so long and I’m now finally getting round to writing it! I bought this all the way back in January when I started to get into my skincare, and it has been a staple ever since. You can read about my evening skincare routine HERE and also more about how it helped my acne HERE.

What first interested me about the Bioré cleanser was the fact its main ingredient was charcoal, and it was also only £5 in Tesco! (It’s actually currently only £3.30 on Amazon!) Charcoal is great at drawing out impurities and with acne. I suffer with quite blemish prone skin so was very eager to try this.

What Bioré deep pore charcoal cleanser claims:

“Draws out and traps 2x more dirt & impurities than a basic cleanser, purifying pores to leave your face deeply cleaned and your skin tingly-smooth. Pores are twice as clean after just one use.”

My thoughts:

As you can see from the picture, the product is a black, gel-like consistency and it doesn’t really have a scent to it. In the morning I use it to cleanse my skin for the day (and to remove sweat/dirt from sleep). I also use the cleanser every night to remove my makeup and it does an amazing job of it. I squirt one pump into my hands and rub it all over my skin in circular motions and work it into my skin until it feels clean. Once I’ve worked it into my skin I take a clean warm damp flannel and gently rub it off of my face. If I have a lot of makeup on I like to use this twice to really get rid of everything and it does it well.

I’ve recently bought a silicone face brush that I’ve been using it with and it really feels like it works the product into your skin. When I first used it, and every so often it can feel a bit tingly on your skin, but I really enjoy this feeling and it persuades me that it’s working. It doesn’t make my skin feel tight after use and doesn’t increase how dry my skin is either which is a massive bonus for me.

Since using this regularly I’ve noticed that it seems to halt breakouts. Normally I get new spots every day or so but with regular use of the Biore Charcoal cleanser new ones do not form. My pores have also been minimised a lot, so if you suffer with large pores I recommend trying this! I just have an overall clearer face as well which I love.

Overall why I love it:

  • Extremely affordable
  • Oil Free
  • Removes makeup well
  • Minimises pores
  • Stops Breakouts

I highly recommend this cleanser as it ticks all the boxes for me, I’m on my second bottle now and will repurchase it again. I’ve even recommended it to friends who have bought it and loved it!

Have you used this before? What cleanser do you use?

I agree with you. I have tried and definitely is a good product. Better than other more expensive brands. Could you show or talk about the silicone face brush, I love to know more!

I love this stuff. I use it all the time and I always notice a difference when I use it. Sometimes my skin will get really bad if I stop using this so for me this is such a holy grail!

This cleanser sounds really good. Anything that can help stop breakouts is good in my books! And I love that it’s a product good for oily skin!

Oooo I am loving the sound of this cleanser! I’ve wanted to hear more about this for ages so I’m so glad you did this post. I think when I’ve used a few products up I might have to make a cheeky purchase on amazon! If it helps minimise pores, stops breakouts and doesn’t make your skin dry then I’m in!

I have wanted to try a charcoal cleaner. When I read reviews like this I think it may be more than a fad. Right now I am drying my skin out – winter, agh!

I used to use this a few years ago! I loved it back then but now I tend to use a clay wash. Thanks for reminding me of this one! x

I have heard so much about this cleanser lately and all the reviews are so good that I might want to give it a try. Have to check if it’s available in my country. 😊
