Wonderland Makeup Review, swatches and Eyeshadow look
Hey Lovelies. The wonderful people over at Wonderland makeup kindly contacted me and sent me some goodies to try out! I’d heard of this brand before, particularly because of their primer as one of my favourite makeup artists Vanessa over at The Wigs and Makeup Manager uses it. Her looks are so inspiring and amazing so I highly recommend you check her out.
I got sent 3 products – Lash lengthening Mascara, Studio finish Primer and a wonderdust loose eyeshadow pigment in the shade chalked. I just wanted to start off by saying I love the name of their brand! Gives me lots of Alice in wonderland vibes. I also really love the crisp white and black packaging.
Wonderland makeup Lash Lengthening Mascara £11.50
I had a gut feeling I would really like this mascara as it states it’s a lash lengthening mascara with fibres. I’ve previously used a fibres mascara duo in the past and thought it was amazing so had high hopes for this one! It has a plastic wand with 2 different shaped sides, one with short bristles and one with long bristles. Personally I enjoy using wands with different lengths because I feel like the short side helps get to the root of the lash and the long side helps to lengthen. Using this mascara my eyelashes went so long, I was very impressed! I experienced no flaking either which is a bonus. Overall I really love this mascara.
My only tiny semi-negative point I would make is that it didn’t thicken my lashes at all and sometimes I like a bit of volume for an intense look. However this mascara is a lash lengthening one so it’s doing exactly what it says on the label! I think it’s perfect for everyday use. They do sell 2 different types of mascara, this lengthening one and a thickening one here. You can see it in action in the photo below.
Wonderland makeup Studio Finish Primer £15
Now this product is my favourite of the three! It’s a clear oil free primer that reduces fine lines and increases the longevity of your makeup. You only need a small amount of the studio finish primer as it goes a long way. I found that it visibly smoothed out my skin and made a great base for my foundation. It made my makeup look flawless on application and it’s very comparable to the Maybelline Baby skin primer. Wonderland makeup state that this primer is suitable for Oily, dry or combination skin so is suitable for everyone which is great. It even has a full 5 star rating from 40 reviews which just proves how much it works. I honestly really love this product and recommend it. You can buy the primer here.
Wonderland makeup Wonderdust loose pigment – Chalked £6.50
Finally the third product that Wonderland makeup sent to me was one of their Wonderdust loose pigments in the shade ‘chalked’. It’s a matte pale dusty pink which is great for me as I’m currently obsessed with pink eyeshadows and eyeliners. One of the things that I LOVE about this product is the packaging! It comes in a glass tub with a ceramic lid and a plastic lid inside that you can pop open to sprinkle a controlled amount out of, or you can take the whole lid off to get as much as you like out. One problem with pigments is how messy they can be but the packaging of this means no mess which is amazing.
When it comes to the actual pigment itself I thought the colour wasn’t as pigmented as I hoped and a little chalky however I always think it’s hard to get matte formulas really intense and it is a pale shade. The shadow itself was long lasting and easy to blend. For £6.50 I think these are a great bargain and they have such a wide range of colours I want them all! I used the Chalked Wonderdust pigment to create an eyeshadow look below so you can see how it looks on the lid.
Overall I’m very impressed with Wonderland Makeup. All the products are great quality and super affordable. Plus they are made in the UK and cruelty free which is amazing.
