My First Blogging event | Kashka Jewellery
Hey lovelies. I thought I would share with you my experience of my first blogging event. It was such a beautiful event with a beautiful brand that I thought some of you might find it interesting. Also, as an anxious person I was quite proud of myself for going and wanted to share my experience with you all.
My first blogging event
When I checked my junk email folder to see an invite to a blogging event I was over the moon. When I read the entire email to see I had missed the RSVP deadline by 2 days I was heartbroken. Eventually, after being on the waiting list and people dropping out 3 times, I was able to go! I was anxious at the thought of going to this event but at the same time incredibly excited. The event was an intimate 3 course meal where we got to chat to other bloggers and learn more about the brand, which was Kashka Jewellery.
The one thing that made me the most nervous about attending the event was that I didn’t know anyone going. I hadn’t seen anyone tweet or post about it anywhere, I was going to walk in to a place with no clue of anything. Luckily while scrolling through Instagram I saw Georgia had commented on Kashka’s photo about the event! I messaged Georgia and got chatting to her, it turned out she didn’t know anyone going either and we agreed to meet beforehand which was great.
The meal was in a place called The Phene in Chelsea. I decided to walk there from the tube station to calm my nerves! I arrived and met Georgia who was so lovely! She doesn’t have a blog but she does make Youtube videos, I recommend her channel as she’s very bubbly and makes a lot of fashion videos.
We walked into the room to a beautiful table set up, with candles and flowers. There was also a table displaying all of the beautiful jewellery collections. By this point my nerves really kicked in, even my wrists were sweating! I instantly recognised several bloggers and had to pinch myself quite a bit! It was so surreal seeing all these people in real life that I had previously read and interacted with online, lots of people that I look up to and admire. I literally texted my boyfriend like “omg you know this girl and that girl I’ve talked to you about??- They’re here!!”.
The first half hour was spent mingling with other bloggers, drinking free cocktails, and of course, taking lots of photos! I was too shy to say yes to having my photo taken which I do regret now, but that’s something I won’t do in the future.
We then all sat down for our meal where there was already a seating plan, it was great idea because it got us all chatting with different people. I ended up sat next to the founder herself Naqiyah, and in-between a few Ethical bloggers which was amazing.
I only had 2 courses just because I’m a little bit fussy and wasn’t sure if I would like any of the starters, but they did all look incredible. For my main I had a chicken pie and for dessert I had a salted caramel cheesecake. They were both delicious. We also had cupcakes, more cocktails, and wine throughout the meal – we were truly spoilt!
Throughout the meal I spent all my time chatting to all the amazing women around me. The ethical bloggers around me really opened up my eyes to that niche as I didn’t even know it was a massive thing before, it was lovely! Speaking to the founder Naqiyah herself was amazing too, hearing her story and how passionate she is was incredible.
I honestly sat there looking around the table thinking to myself “How/Why am I here?” I do believe I was the smallest blogger in there and I just felt so incredibly grateful.
I ended up being one of the last ones in there, not realising it was 22:30, I had gotten there at 7pm and the time had flown by. I wanted to stay forever chatting but I wouldn’t have gotten home otherwise! We got given a goody bag too which was full of ethical products and then got to choose a Kashka jewellery piece as a gift! I was in absolute shock and felt so so grateful. All the pieces are absolutely stunning I was too spoilt for choice and spent ages umm-ing and ahh-ing over what to pick. In the end I chose the Nayela Faith Necklace in Rose gold, I had been eyeing it up on the website for a little while and just think it is absolutely gorgeous. I have been wearing it everyday since and everyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for rose gold.
I’m thinking about doing a whole post on the brand itself as it is honestly so incredible, it’s ethical, handmade and every piece is gorgeous. I will link their website here so that you can check them out for yourself.
In the end I walked out of The Phene with the fattest grin on my face, I overcame my anxiety and had such an incredible evening! It made me want to go to lots more events as it was so much fun. Hopefully this one wasn’t my last and I get the opportunity to meet more bloggers in the future.
