The best ways to remove makeup
Not everyone enjoys removing their make-up at the end of the day, especially If you’re wearing a lot. It can be a boring task and when all you want to do is sleep it can be easily forgotten about.
You should however, never sleep in your makeup. This leads to clogged pores – think about all the sweat and makeup mixing together on your skin and clogging your pores… gross. So today I wanted to share some easy ways with you to remove makeup from your face that I regularly do.
Of course removing makeup from your face doesn’t always mean it’s clean so I do recommend you double cleanse your face or follow one of these 2 methods below with a skin cleanser. My recommendation is the Biore Charcoal cleanser which I spoke about in detail here.
Cleansing oil to remove makeup
A cleansing oil is a really great way to remove makeup. This is because the oil helps to dissolve and breakdown all the makeup on your skin. This also means it is a saviour in melting down waterproof makeup too! They’re great to use if you have dry skin as the oil helps to nourish whilst cleaning.
Make sure you apply this to dry skin as it won’t work on wet skin. Massage the oil into your face in circular motions to break down the makeup, and then rinse away with luke warm water. Double cleansing with this will help ensure your skin is completely clean.
DHC Deep cleansing Oil – This Japanese beauty product is fab for melting away makeup, I always use this when I have a heavy makeup day. When I rinse my face I can literally see all my makeup in the sink.
Micellar Cleansing Water to remove makeup
I believe that everyone should own Micellar cleansing water, whether you wear makeup or not. This super gentle product mainly made up of water removes dirt from your skin without irritating it and is perfect for all skin types. Micellar cleansing water absorbs makeup, and even removes waterproof products!
You simply soak a cotton pad (or a few, depending on how much makeup you have on) and gently sweep it across your face. You can hold soaked pads over your eyes to help absorb your mascara as well if needed.
The best part about Micellar cleansing water is that you don’t need to rinse it off, so it’s great if you’re feeling lazy!
Garnier Micellar cleansing water – This Garnier choice is a highly rated product loved by many! It’s cheap and it works!
Garnier Micellar Oil-infused cleansing water – This product is great because you get the best of both worlds. The oil breaks down the makeup and the micellar water absorbs it. This is my current favourite for removing makeup.
There we have 2 easy ways to remove makeup that I recommend! What products do you use to take your makeup off? I’d love to know in the comments below.
