Dermalogica Skin smoothing cream review | The best moisturiser for dry skin
I recently wrote a post where I trialled a skincare routine made up purely of Dermalogica products for a week to see what changes they did to my skin, you can see that here with before and after photos of my acne. Since then they kindly sent me their new and improved formula of their skin smoothing cream to try out, and I was not disappointed!
Dermalogica skin smoothing cream

This best-selling moisturiser features a state-of-the-art complex that works on a molecular level to help reduce Trans-Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL) and infuse skin with 48 hours of vital moisture. This advanced technology also helps shield skin’s natural microbiome from environmental stress. A dynamic Hyaluronic Acid Complex with Mallow, Cucumber and Arnica distributes hydration throughout the skin, helping to lock in moisture for lasting hydration. The product claims to keep your skin hydrated for 48 hours using their innovative Hydramesh technology by retaining water in the molecules in your skin – It’s very science-y which is what I think makes it so great! This 1 minute video here explains exactly how it works which is super interesting. You can tell how much research goes into every Dermalogica product, and the proof is in the results!
The skin smoothing cream comes in the standard white and grey branded packaging. In a big squeezy tube which is great for ensuring you can get the right amount of product out.
The cream itself I wouldn’t describe as thick, but it has a medium thickness to it, enough to feel like it’s moisturising without feeling heavy on the skin which is fab! Sometimes heavy creams can make your face feel really greasy.
For me I don’t find that it has a scent either which I don’t see as a negative really, It can be lovely when products smell nice but adding scents to the formula would probably effect how it works so I see this as a positive more than anything.
Dermalogica Skin smoothing cream Benefits:
- Gluten free
- Paraben free
- No artificial fragrances or colours
- Cruelty free
I absolutely love the fact that Dermalogica can claim their products to have all of the above!
I would describe my skin as acne/dry and the results I have got from using the skin smoothing cream have been great. It is an all round perfect moisturiser and now an absolute staple for me. It instantly moisturises my skin and leaves it feeling soft. Since using it I haven’t had any dry patches which I get quite often, so overall I am so impressed and happy!
Have you used this before? What is your staple moisturiser?
