New Year’s Eve Makeup picks

The great thing about New Year’s Eve is that it’s an excuse to glam yourself up and wear as much glitter as you can put on your face! I’ve put together a few products that I think would be perfect for a night out on New year’s eve for looking good the whole night.

The first thing you need for good New Year’s Eve makeup is primer. A good base always starts with a decent primer, if you’re going to party past 12am you need your makeup to stay put. I like to use my Benefit porefessional (not photographed here) as it smooths out my skin for even foundation application. You can even use Primer water, here I have featured this Primark one which I really enjoy using.

Fake tan

You want to look your best on New Year’s Eve and Fake tan always instantly improves my confidence. This one by Skinny tan is my favourite. It is honestly the quickest and most natural looking self tan and you can read my full review of it here.

Under eye concealer

Staying up past midnight is not good for eye bags. So a good under eye concealer is needed, the Benefit erase paste is my favourite for counteracting blue circles and illuminating the area.

Glowing is key to glamourous makeup. I’ve been enjoying using this rose gold highlighter in the shade ‘Brunch Club’ from Primark lately and it gives you a gorgeous glow.

Eyeshadow Palette

Eyeshadow is the part of my makeup I like to get the most creative with. I think that either the Naked 2 palette or the Huda Mauve Obsessions Palette are perfect for New Year’s Eve. The Urban Decay palette has a great range of shimmers and mattes to make a gorgeous smoky look. The Huda palette has a gorgeous range of pigmented pink shades with textured ones that would make great glamourous eye looks. If you want some inspiration, I created a look using it here.

Glitter in my opinion is a must for New Year’s Eve! The Collection Glam crystals glitter eyeliners are gorgeous for adding subtle glitter to your makeup and the staying power is great. If you’re more daring you can use real chunky glitter on your eyelids or even just a subtle amount on the inner corners of your eyes to add a touch of sparkle.

Fake eyelashes are a great way to glam up your look, but if you don’t like wearing them or prefer a more natural look you can just use a good mascara. My favourite is the Maybelline Lash Sensational which lengthen and thicken my eyelashes really well. It’s a holy grail mascara for me.

Setting Spray

Finally to finish a look and help your makeup stay on all night is setting spray. I use the Makeup Revolution Setting spray which makes a huge difference to the lasting power of my makeup. This product is a must for long lasting makeup past midnight!

So those are some of the products I think are crucial in order to look glam and stay glam past midnight on New Year’s Eve. What products do you think would be great to use that I haven’t mentioned?
