Primark lip scrub and mask review

Hello lovelies, today’s post is a review of the Primark PS… Dreamy lips 2 step lip scrub and mask. I tend to have quite dry lips especially in winter, so I was intrigued to try this Primark lip scrub and mask. Their facemasks are actually pretty good so I had high hopes for this. I thought it would be a nice treat to have on a pamper night and it was only £1.50.

The mask comes in a foil packet with 2 parts, you open the top part for the scrub and the bottom part for the overnight mask.

The Scrub:

There is a large amount of the scrub in the packet, I would say too much for one use which is what it’s designed for. The scrub has sugar sized granules which you gently rub into wet lips for at least one minute, it leaves an oily residue which felt nice to me. You can rinse your lips again if you don’t like the feeling of it. It smells very sweet and removed all of my dry skin which was great.

Overnight mask:

The next thing you do is apply the overnight mask and sleep in it. It has a really thick gloopy consistency, I would say similar to honey. It smells really nice too and my lips did feel softer in the morning but not as soft as I would like it to be.

Overall my views on the scrub and mask are pretty neutral, I did have soft lips but only for 1 day. The scrub was good at exfoliating and removing dry skin, and the mask seemed to help moisturise a little bit, but not enough for what you would believe an overnight mask would do. There was also way too much product in the packet for just one use. Whereas the packaging is designed for one use which didn’t make sense? I tried to save it to use the next day but it’s too messy.

Also, within 2 days I had dry skin again on my lips which makes me believe it didn’t really exfoliate them well enough. Of course it is Winter so It’s hard to judge when dry lips are common.

I think the novelty is nice, and it’s a good idea if you want nice soft lips for 1 day but it didn’t last very long, however at such a small price I don’t think it’s a waste. It’s a nice little treat for a pamper evening.

Do you have any lip scrubs you recommend? I’d love to know in the comments.

Clare xx
