REN Skincare is always a brand I’ve wanted to try due to it’s incredible reputation for being high quality. I was lucky enough to be sent some products to try so today I’m sharing a review of their Read Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic.
Ready steady glow daily AHA tonic
“Our super-effective AHA + BHA skin-resurfacing tonic is a REN Clean Skincare bestseller. Formulated for daily use, Ready Steady Glow brightens complexions, refines skin texture and minimises the look of pores.”
The active ingredients:
Lactic Acid (AHA) from Yeast Fermentation
Resurfaces skin texture and promotes cell turnover.
Salicin (BHA) from Willow Bark Extract
Reduces sebum secretion, reduces pore size, reduces breakouts.
Azelaic Acid Precursors from Wheat, Barley and Rye
Improves hydration, boosts radiance, boosts elasticity.
What the daily AHA tonic does:
Skin is resurfaced, plumped and firmed
Pores look visibly smaller.
Skin is less oily. Skin is brightened, even-toned and hydrated.
First of all I want to mention that it is vegan and cruelty free which I love. The design of the packaging is also something I’m a big fan of. It has a pump that allows an easy way to soak your cotton pad by simply pressing on it. However this can tend to leak if not left standing up right so remember that if you are travelling with it.
Acids are a great way to exfoliate your skin, to remove dead skin cells and reveal a brighter complexion. I was previously loving The Ordinary glycolic acid which I spoke about here. Compared to that, the Ren daily AHA tonic seems to remove more dirt than The Ordinary one. No matter how many times I’ve cleansed my face, each time I use this there is always dirt on the cotton pad. (Which I love seeing because it means I know it’s working). It’s also gentle enough to use morning and night which is great. This is great on my dry skin but I reckon this would work even better on oily skin as I believe it is tailored for it.
One of the first things you’ll notice using this, is it has quite a strong orange scent which I found pleasant. My only issue with this tonic is that it can sometimes leave a bit of a sticky residue on my skin, I’m not sure if this is because I’m using too much or if it is the product itself.
I’ve really enjoyed using the Ren aha tonic daily and it has given me a more radiant complexion.
